Time to meet yet another one of our shiny bloggers, this US-based gadget girl Star...
Name: Star C. Foster (Yes, that's my real name. No, my parents were not hippies. Thanks for asking.)
Shiny Job: Writer for Shiny Shiny
Hometown: Philadelphia, PA USA
Five favourite web 2.0 sites (besides shiny ones): Probably the Gothamist family of websites, and I'm not just saying that because I also write for Phillyist. The whole reason I got involved with the local version was that I loved reading London and New York from the people who lived there.
Last 3 gigs you went to: Jonathan Coulton, The Trachtenberg Family Slideshow Players; and Harry & the Potters (with Draco & the Malfoys). I swear, I'm not solely interested in novelty bands - it's just been that kind of week.
Last 3 books you bought: If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things (Jon McGregor), Misfortune (Westley Stace) , & Haunted (Chuck Palahniuk)
Last 3 albums you bought: Fidelity is the Enemy (Jim Boggia), Slaying Since 1996 (Suicide Squeeze Records Compilation), Get Excommunicated (Ed & the Refrigerators)
Last 3 DVDs you bought: I rarely buy DVDs anymore. I <3 Netflx.
In the film of your life you'd be played by: Rosalind Russell. (I desperately want to be her version of Auntie Mame when I grow up).
What song would you pick for the soundtrack to your life: All I Ask by Crowded House. (It's the wanderlust in me.)
Which female AND male 'sleb would you do the dirty with: What - together? Or separately? And I can only pick one of each? Sigh. Well, let's say Eddie Izzard (funny, smart and sexy - how I do wish I had that man's legs!) and Angelina Jolie (let's face it - she's just hot)..
Favourite beach: I'm not a beach gal - you can tell by my miserably pale pallor. I much prefer vacationing in cities where I can explore out of the way places.
What have you got in your pocket: Right this moment, my keys and my bosses' credit card (don't ask).
What colour toothbrush do you have: Red
What song would you want played at your funeral: Daft Punk is Playing at My House (LCD Soundsystem) I love to dance to this song - and I'd prefer my funeral to be a celebration of my life rather than a mourning of my death, when the time comes- hopefully many many years from now following numerous adventures. Preferably adventures with pirates. Or robots. Or monkeys. Or some combination thereof.
Tell us one secret about you that people wouldn't expect: I am a secret weakness for 70's soft rock. I suspect it comes from growing up watching those old K-Tel collection commercials.
If you were a car, what would you be: The Mystery Machine (Sans Scrappy Doo - how I loathe him.)
What is your favourite item of clothing: Silken lounge pajamas. I long for the day that pajamas become not only socially acceptable to wear in public - but de rigeur in the office. Remember Hostess Pajamas? Those where the days.
What colour pants do you wear (Stolen from Smash Hits circa 1991): Blue jeans, whenever possible.
What was your first alcohol experience like (stolen from Pop Bitch): Oh - I don't remember. I think I snuck a slug of whiskey out of a bottle just to try it. I'm sure I didn't like it at the time. I've gotten much better at handling the whiskey (although I still haven't mastered Tequilla or Grog). Mostly it's wine or good beer these days. (Can someone explain the PBR phenomenon to me? I don't get it at all.)
If you were a videogame character who would you be: Q-bert. He's funny, awkward, mumbles and doesn't always look before he leaps.

You went to see JoCo??! Oh, I could pull my hair out in jealousy!
(But won't).
Diane: Yes, I did. And he was funny and adorable...but not *quite* worth pulling your hair out over.
hee hee! okay, well I'm still jealous but will restrain myself.
