Shiny Media hits 30 million views on YouTube
Shiny Media recently passed a very significant landmark. Its two main YouTube channels - the tech based Shiny Media and fashion based Shiny Fashion - have now notched up over 30 million views, which for a company of our size and resources is astonishing.
The last time we looked we were behind ITN, Walt Disney and Oasis and in a desperate struggle with JLS. We are also ahead of Sky News, FHM, Big Brother and well clear of any other UK tech media brands.
Over the years we have had some very talented individuals producing our videos, some of whom have gone on to other great things.
I think the huge viewing figures are down to a number of reasons...
Understanding that it is the content, not the quality of the video production, that creates a YouTube hit. To be honest some of our early videos were technically very ropey, but they still attracted huge audiences because they offered footage of products before anyone else.
Constantly adding new video content. We almost always add 3/4 new videos each week.
Not taking ourselves too seriously.
Some great presenters.
Seriously promoting the videos on our existing websites.
Shiny has also worked with many brands on producing video content including Vodafone, Cisco and LG.
