History
Back in 2003 technology journalists Chris Price and Ashley Norris launched Tech Digest, the first gadget site aimed at Europeans and Brits rather than just Americans. Since then Tech Digest has developed into one of the most influential technology websites attracting around 400,000 unique visits each month. We can also boast a devoted readership that reads like a who's who of consumer electronics journalism, PR and marketing.
In March 2004 Ashley and Chris recruited Katie Lee to launch Shiny Shiny, the first ever gadget site written by and for women.
Between 2004 and 2006 Shiny launched many sites in the fashion and lifestyle sectors including Hippyshopper, TVScoop, Shiny Style and Bridalwave
In 2007 Shiny secured funding from Bright Station Ventures and further expanded the Shiny Media portfolio.
However in 2009 the Bright Station Ventures version of Shiny Media went into administration. Its assets were then divided between two groups.
The new Shiny Media is now run by its original CEO (Ashley Norris, who resigned as CEO in Oct 2007 several months after the Bright Station Ventures deal was completed) and it is largely owned by the company's original founders.
